How do we properly maintain the corrugator belt to extend its service life?

The corrugator belt of the corrugated cardboard double facer is a key component connecting the hot plate and the cardboard forming, and needs to withstand high temperature (about 180-220℃), friction and cardboard tension. Common losses include: belt surface wear, local cracks, off tracking and thermal aging. If improperly maintained, it will directly affect the bonding strength and flatness of the cardboard.

So how do we properly maintain the corrugator belt to extend its service life?

1. Clean immediately after stopping: prevent glue accumulation and dirt damage. Every time you stop (especially when you plan to stop or change orders), immediately remove the starch glue remaining on the belt surface. Wet glue is easy to remove, but it is difficult to handle after it hardens and easily damages the belt surface. You can use tools such as plastic or wooden scrapers (the edges must be smooth and free of burrs), but metal sharp tools are strictly prohibited!

2. Tension and deviation adjustment:

Tension control: adjust the tension through the double-sided machine tensioning device. Too low tension can easily lead to slippage and deviation, while too high tension will accelerate belt aging.

Deviation correction: When the conveyor belt is found to be offset, first check whether the roller is accumulated or worn, and then fine-tune the driven roller bearing seat (each adjustment amount ≤ 1mm) to avoid sudden adjustment causing the belt to twist.

3. Joint protection: Pay special attention to the joint status during daily maintenance.

Avoid hard scraping: Be extra careful when cleaning the joint area to avoid the scraper getting stuck in the joint gap.

Prevent impact: Avoid hard objects (such as tools, cardboard scraps) from hitting the joint during operation.

Professional repair: If the joint is damaged (small-scale debonding, warping), stop the machine immediately and contact professionals to evaluate whether it can be repaired or the entire belt needs to be replaced. Do not use glue to stick it at will!
